Depending on the job assignment employees will work with variousspecialized tools and equipment such as backhoes, salt spreaders with wingplows, hydro-excavators, and dump trucks. Employees also respond to emergenciesand have overtime opportunities. Work is performed in individual or crewsettings depending on the job assignment.
In this role, you will progressively gain experience, learn to plan andprioritize a diverse workload, and obtain licenses such as a commercialdriver\'s license (CDL) and water distribution license. The City pays forand trains employees to obtain and maintain a CDL and other licenses andcertifications. Additionally, the City provides employees with safety boots andshoes, cold-weather gear, and uniforms.
The wages for this position are dependent on qualifications andexperience. Employees are eligible for a pay increase six months after hire.
