Job summary

Cottonwood Residential is hiring an entry-level Apartment Maintenance Technician for Stratford at Hillcrest Apartments in Winston-Salem, NC. You will perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance to keep our communities welcoming and safe.

The ideal candidate can read and speak English, lift up to 50 lbs, work evenings/weekends, and participate in on-call after-hours service as needed. A valid driver’s license and optional EPA/CPO credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak English to communicate with customers, process Company paperwork, and interpret safety and operating manuals.
• Must be able to move, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and navigate elevation changes.
• Frequent need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, push/pull.
• Work hours including evenings and weekends.
• On-call technician and after-hours service with Service Manager support.
• Perform repairs including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry as related to household, building and grounds.
• EPA certification Type II or Universal is a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC is a plus.
• CPO certification is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Cottonwood Residential is hiring! We are looking to add an entry-level Apartment Maintenance Technician to our team at Stratford at Hillcrest Apartments in Winston-Salem, NC.

Qualifications & Required Experience of an Apartment Maintenance Technician

• Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with customers, process Company paperwork, and interpret safety and operating manuals and procedures.
• Must be able to move, carry, reposition, or lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and ability to navigate elevation changes while maintaining balance.
• Frequent need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, push/pull, and ability to navigate difficult terrain and access small areas.
• Ability to work standard community hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work as an on-call technician and provide after-hours emergency service with the support of the Service Manager while following Company standards.
• Perform repairs that may include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry work related to household, building, and property grounds repairs.
• EPA certification Type II or Universal is a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC is a plus.
• CPO certification is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
