Job summary

Cottonwood Residential is hiring an entry-level Apartment Maintenance Technician for Stratford at Hillcrest Apartments in Winston-Salem, NC. You will perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds, while ensuring safety and quality in daily operations.

Role requires evenings/weekends as needed, valid driver's license, and strong communication with residents. EPA Type II/Universal, CPO, or HVAC experience are pluses.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes, and speaks English to communicate with customers and document procedures.
• Able to move/reposition items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as part of standard hours.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs including plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry for apartments and grounds.
• Communicate with residents and service manager to coordinate maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and company standards while diagnosing issues.

Cottonwood Residential is hiring! We are looking to add an entry-level Apartment Maintenance Technician to our team at Stratford at Hillcrest Apartments in Winston-Salem, NC.

Qualifications & Required Experience of an Apartment Maintenance Technician

• Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with customers, process Company paperwork, and interpret safety and operating manuals and procedures.
• Must be able to move, carry, reposition, or lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and ability to navigate elevation changes while maintaining balance.
• Frequent need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, push/pull, and ability to navigate difficult terrain and access small areas.
• Ability to work standard community hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work as an on-call technician and provide after-hours emergency service with the support of the Service Manager while following Company standards.
• Perform repairs that may include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry work related to household, building, and property grounds repairs.
• EPA certification Type II or Universal is a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC is a plus.
• CPO certification is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
