Job summary

Dover Corporation's OPW division, based at the Whitsett, North Carolina manufacturing facility, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support RegO equipment and processes. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to maintenance requests, and drive improvements to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires five years of manufacturing maintenance experience, strong trades knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints.

  • Clear jams and inspect products; ensure quality before resuming production.
  • Repair and adjust small machines and perform scheduled changeovers when needed.

OPW is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of Dover (NYSE: DOV).This role is based on-site in our Whitsett, North Carolina manufacturing facility and the base schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Requires the ability to work overtime as needed.What You Will Do:The Maintenance Technician will engage in performing various maintenance activities at RegO. Will respond to maintenance requests after being submitted through an automated system. The Maintenance Technician will also complete projects as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.How You Will Do It:Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action.Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment at the proper intervals.Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.Review production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing. Perform necessary change overs of equipment to needed SKUs or performs scheduled maintenance PMs or upgrades to ensure customer demands are met.Test equipment for proper operation and safety.Clears jams and sets aside product for inspection and rework. Verifies equipment functionality prior to returning to operations after repairs, change over or machine adjustments.Examine, tests, and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms.Checks product for visual defects.Performs preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.Examines defects and analyzes spoilage root causes and, where possible, takes corrective action.Analyzes and records root cause of production delays on daily production reports.Repair and adjust small machines, e.g. drill presses, punch presses, grinding and buffing heads, riveters, bench power and hand tools to involve replacement of bearings, spindles, electrical switches, etc.Work from drawings, sketches, specifications, schematics and manufacturer manualsUse scale, square, levels, miscellaneous power bench tools, wrenches, carpentry tools, etc. Apply oil and grease to equipment in absence of oiler and greaser.Performs product examination and rework when line is down due to causes beyond mechanic’s control.What You Bring to the Role:Five (5) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentMust be knowledgeable in skilled tradesMust have well-rounded knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in manufacturing environmentsUnderstanding of building codes is desirableAbility to read blueprintsMust possess basic reading, writing, and computation skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workersAbility to effectively problem-solveGood interpersonal communication skillsThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.We consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.
