Job summary

Casa Di Bertacchi in Vineland, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a USDA-regulated meat processing facility. You will maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting conveyors, grinders, slicers, and refrigeration systems; reading manuals and schematics; recording maintenance in CMMS; and enforcing OSHA, USDA HACCP, and GMP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment (meat industry experience preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices in a USDA-inspected facility is a plus.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Respond to production breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime.
• Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety standards (e.g., USDA, HACCP), and internal safety protocols.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
• Communicate effectively with production, QA, sanitation, and other departments.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to 5S and GMP standards.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to support the safe and efficient operation of a USDA-regulated meat processing facility. Meat processing environment with exposure to raw meat products, refrigerated areas, and manufacturing machinery.

Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
