Overview

Zircar Ceramics in Florida, NY is now accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate will be able to fabricate, install, and maintain company equipment and facilities while utilizing trade skills.

Salary Range: $24/hr - $28/hr

Responsibilities

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Fabrication, installation, and maintenance of company equipment and facilities using trade skills, including but not limited to:
• Mechanical repair: Repair mechanical equipment and fixtures.
• Plumbing: Install and repair piping and ductwork based on prints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Electrical wiring: Connect lights, outlets, and equipment to electrical power.
• Fabricate molds and custom fixtures from sketches or drawings.
• Knowledge of welding, torch cutting, and soldering.

Undertake any other tasks deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Verbal and written comprehension skills typically acquired upon high school completion.
• Strong manual skills with machine shop tools, welding, and woodworking.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record to drive between company facilities.
• Physical requirements include:
• Moving machinery and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
• Climbing to heights up to 30’ using ladders and scaffolds.
• Traveling between facilities and walking within them.
• Operating hand tools and equipment such as drills, grinders, torches, lathes, sanders, etc.
• Operating forklifts.
• Full manual dexterity.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Working with dust masks, respirators, and welding face shields as needed.
• Performing snow and ice removal during winter, including shoveling, scraping, operating snow blowers, and spreading salt.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to fiberglass, ceramic fiber dust, welding fumes, paints, thinners, and high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Work occurs both indoors and outdoors, with environmental hazards associated with manufacturing processes.
