Job summary

McKnight Place Assisted Living & Memory Care in St. Louis is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for our luxury senior living community.

You’ll perform preventative maintenance, handle repairs, and ensure the campus is safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, families, and staff. You’ll respond to work orders, assist with turnovers, maintain building grounds, and follow OSHA and infection prevention protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of basic plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance experience is required.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to bend, climb, and occasionally assist residents.
• Adequate hearing and vision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the community.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from residents and staff.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance issues.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, in preparation for new residents.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the building, grounds, and outdoor spaces.
• Assist with snow removal, ice control, and other seasonal maintenance responsibilities as needed.
• Follow OSHA regulations, infection prevention protocols, and all community safety policies.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service while interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and appearance of our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot building systems, complete work orders, and ensure our campus remains safe, functional, and welcoming. This position works closely with all departments to provide exceptional service while supporting resident comfort.
