Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician at Host & Keep, you will play a key role in maintaining the condition, functionality, and five-star standards of our vacation rental portfolio. You will be responsible for responding to maintenance needs, completing repairs, conducting detailed property inspections, and following our Breezeway checklists and operational standards.

Responsibilities
1. Maintenance & Repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, fixtures, and general property maintenance.
- Identify when a repair requires a specialized vendor and coordinate appropriately.
- Clearly document completed repairs, issues identified, and recommended follow-up.

2. Preventive Maintenance
- Perform routine property and equipment checks to identify potential issues before they become larger problems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on appliances, fixtures, HVAC systems, plumbing, and other property components.
- Help maintain properties at a consistent five-star standard and minimize avoidable emergency repairs.
3. Property Inspections & Quality Control
- Conduct detailed property inspections using established Breezeway checklists.
- Identify maintenance, damage, missing items, and areas requiring attention.
- Correct deficiencies when possible and upgrade issues that require additional resources.
- Attend and assist with new property onboardings , including initial inspections and setup.
- Maintain property inventory and ensure supplies are organized, accounted for, and properly documented.
- Properly classify maintenance expenses and document repairs clearly so the Owner Relations team can accurately communicate work completed and recommended improvements to owners.
4. Guest Experience
- Prioritize guest satisfaction by addressing maintenance issues quickly and professionally.
- Communicate courteously with guests when entering properties or addressing maintenance concerns.
- Provide timely updates to the appropriate team members regarding repairs or issues affecting a guest's stay.
- Represent Host & Keep professionally while working inside our guests' homes.
5. Team Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with Operations, Guest Services, Property Managers, Cleaning, and Field Operations teams.
- Communicate clearly regarding completed repairs, outstanding issues, property conditions, and recommended next steps.
- Help identify recurring maintenance issues and opportunities to improve property operations.
- Maintain accurate updates in Breezeway and other company systems.
6. Inventory & Supplies
- Keep maintenance supplies, tools, and property inventory organized and accounted for.
- Identify missing or low-stock items and communicate purchasing needs.
- Help establish consistent inventory standards across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Technology proficiency is required. Must be comfortable using mobile apps, digital checklists, messaging platforms, and property management systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in general property maintenance, preferably in vacation rentals, hospitality, residential property management, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of appliances, and general home repairs.
- Experience with Breezeway or similar maintenance task and scheduling software
- Attention to detail and ability to follow checklists and procedures.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Professional communication skills and a guest-service mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a fast-paced team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, when needed.
- On-call rotation based on weekend coverage schedules with other team mates.
