Job summary

Silgan Plastic Food Containers Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the night shift. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, printers, and related systems, with preventive maintenance and process adjustments to support continuous production.

Preferred candidates hold a degree in Industrial technology or have equivalent experience; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; maintenance experience in production/ facility settings.
• Preferred: Degree in Industrial technology.
• Basic knowledge of extrusion, vacuum systems, material transfer, air systems, preventative maintenance, building maintenance, forklifts and safety equipment.
• Ability to read OEM manuals and diagnose equipment malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs on manufacturing and auxiliary equipment.
• Performs adjustments and setups to support production while following safety procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area and reports unsafe conditions.
• Reads measuring devices and uses inspection tools for preventive maintenance.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - NIGHT SHIFT SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment, secondary equipment, printers, etc. Also able to perform adjustments, preventative maintenance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be able to proficiently understand machines, conveyance equipment, and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to affect repairs. Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment. Consult OEM manuals to identify proper equipment specific procedures, parts identification, troubleshooting, etc. Perform adjustments and setups on a variety of equipment in support of production and in accordance with the company developed documents and all safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area and report/ correct all unsafe working conditions. Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools. Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance on equipment.

EDUCATION

Preferred: Degree in Industrial technology

EXPERIENCE

Required High School Diploma, experience in maintenance of production machinery or facility.

SKILLS

Required: Basic knowledge extrusion, vacuum systems, material transfer, air systems, preventative maintenance, building maintenance, forklifts & safety equipment.
