Job summary

The Dolben Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our high-energy community in Trumbull, CT, with 340 apartment homes. In this on-site role, you will respond to service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and help turn over vacant units to ensure a quality living environment for residents.

You will work with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance systems, handle painting and general upkeep, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of maintenance experience preferred
• Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair is preferred but not required
• Ability to respond to on-call emergencies
• Reliable transportation and good communication skills
• Basic computer skills and comfort with various software and apps

Responsibilities

• Resolve HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance issues
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in through turnover repairs
• Perform painting and touch-ups during turnovers
• Maintain safety and cleanliness, including snow removal
• Provide outstanding resident service and respond to tickets
• Be on-call for after-hours emergencies

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for being a great team member of this high energy community with 340 apartment homes in Trumbull, CT. You will assist in maintaining the physical integrity of the community by always providing a quality living environment for our residents.

As a Maintenance Technician (MT), your primary responsibilities include:

• Showing care and concern for our residents through excellence in service ticket resolution and preventative maintenance
• Resolving maintenance issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair
• Preparing vacant apartments for move-in through turn-over repairs and improvements
• Preserving the safety of the community through general upkeep and cleanliness, snow removal and ground maintenance
• Providing residents with outstanding customer service
• Working weekends or evenings and being on call for after-hour emergencies
• Operates with OSHA standards and company safety policies
• Performing painting tasks, including touch-ups and painting apartments during unit turnovers and general property maintenance

What You Bring to Us:

• Experience in maintenance preferred and/or 1-2 years of experience preferred
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency preferred but not required in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance repair
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation
• Personal, reliable transportation to get to work and to respond to on-call emergencies
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills and comfort using various software, apps and computer programs
• Knowledge of painting techniques required, including apartment painting and touch-ups

• Competitive hourly compensation. Hourly Range: $29-$31. Compensation levels are determined in accordance with the employee’s qualifications and experience.
