Job summary

Blakehurst, a Life Plan Community in Towson, MD, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our hospitality-focused team. This role maintains the physical plant, performs routine servicing and seasonal repairs, and helps keep our campus safe, clean, and welcoming for the residents we serve.

You will handle general maintenance tasks, light plumbing and electrical work, painting, preventive maintenance, and occasional snow removal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical schooling preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance duties such as repairing wall/floor coverings, light plumbing, minor electrical work and appliance repairs.
• Performs painting and refurbishing as directed by supervisor.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor building/equipment repairs.
• Assists with snow removal during winter.
• Attends in-service training and fulfills duties as assigned.

Blakehurstis recruiting for a hospitality focusedMaintenance Technicianto join our team! This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant department, including performing routine servicing and seasonal repairs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair, and appliance repairs.
• Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs minor building and equipment repairs.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Assists with snow removal efforts during the winter.

Other Duties:

• Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• When qualified, assists the Director of Plant and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school education. Technical schooling and/or background preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
