Job summary

Blakehurst in Towson, MD is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for the campus facilities on Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with on‑call as needed. Join a community‑focused team serving seniors on a beautiful 40‑acre campus near Baltimore.

You will perform general maintenance, light plumbing and electrical work, painting and refurbishing projects, routine preventive maintenance, and assist with snow removal in winter, all under the supervisor's direction.

Qualifications

• High school education; technical schooling preferred.
• English instruction and basic arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance duties such as fixing wall and floor covers, furniture, fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repairs.
• Performs painting and refurbishing projects as directed by supervisor.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor building repairs.
• Maintains all vehicles and assists with snow removal during winter.
• Maintains tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition; may work on HVAC, water, refrigeration systems and generators when qualified.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

Blakehurst is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Technician to join our team! This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant department, including performing routine servicing and seasonal repairs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair, and appliance repairs.
• Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs minor building and equipment repairs.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Assists with snow removal efforts during the winter.

Other Duties:

• Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• When qualified, assists the Director of Plant and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school education. Technical schooling and/or background preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
