Job summary

SMC Ltd. in Wisconsin seeks a maintenance technician to improve facility uptime through an expanded preventative maintenance program.

You will monitor the program via ERP, repair and reassemble machines, and troubleshoot injection molding and auxiliary equipment including robots. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in a technical field or substantial related experience, with strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field with relevant experience preferred.
• Candidates with a high school diploma/GED and significant related experience, technical training, certifications, or military experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good troubleshooting skills, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and robotics.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Desirable qualifications: Lean manufacturing concepts; ISO experience; Experience in the medical device industry.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain preventative maintenance program through ERP.
• Repair, adjust, maintain and re-assemble machines, mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Troubleshoot primary and secondary manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair and fabricate primary and secondary manufacturing equipment including welding, cutting, assembly, painting, finishing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding and auxiliary equipment, including Arburg, Van Dorn and Toyo Injection Molding Machines, Ultrasonic Welders and Multi-axis Industrial Robots.
• Install and qualify above equipment as necessary.
• Document custom equipment and modifications.
• Specify and order replacement components to maintain spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate regularly with multiple departments.
• Perform other duties as required.
