Job summary

Catholic Charities Disabilities Services in Town of Colonie, NY, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs, and small appliance installations. The role includes remodeling, painting, landscaping, and snow removal, with rotating on-call coverage.

Required are a NYS driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and basic maintenance trade skills. 1–3 years of technician experience is preferred; standard schedule is Mon–Fri 7:30am–4:00pm with

• Competency in basic areas of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
• One to three years of experience as a technician is preferred
• Knowledge of building maintenance or construction, including painting or patching is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical repairs, basic woodworking, installations and repairs for small appliances
• Carry out remodeling projects including sheet rocking, framing, floor tile installations, painting etc.
• Perform landscaping functions including mowing, tree pruning, planting and snow/ice removal
• Rotates on-call responsibilities; on-call coverage in evenings and weekends

As theMaintenance Technician, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:

• Performing all plumbing, electrical repairs, basic woodworking, installations and repairs for small appliances
• Performing various remodeling projects, including but not limited to sheet rocking, framing, floor tile installations, painting, etc.
• Performing all landscaping functions including mowing, tree pruning, planting, etc. and ensures the timely removal of snow and ice
• Rotates on-call responsibilities as scheduled; On-call is required on a rotating basis for evening and weekend coverage
