ANDRITZ Schuler North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency and quality.

The role involves assembling, installing and maintaining equipment, with expertise in PLCs, CNC bending, laser and welding equipment. Fluent English required; German a plus; visa-related TOEFL may be needed for ESL candidates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with formal technical training in maintenance.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Experience in stamping press industry and hydraulic troubleshooting preferred.
  • Fluent in English; German a plus; TOEFL for visa holders if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment per manuals and specs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery; improve equipment for efficiency.
  • Assist with tool and die development and run off – plumbing and pipefitting.
  • Install new equipment per specifications.
  • Document work orders and maintenance logs; maintain safety standards.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician will ensure efficient and dependable operation of machinery and equipment. Troubleshoots repairs and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machines, systems and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Improves and modifies equipment and systems to optimize production efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Assists with Tool and die development and run off - plumbing and pipefitting production and prototype dies.
  • Installs new equipment to specifications as directed.
  • Ensures operation of repaired or new equipment by using customer requirements, manufacturer's instructions and technical knowledge.
  • Documents actions by completing work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Understands and actively complies with all safety requirements and policies and practices. Maintains safe and clean working environment.

Education and Professional Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required and formal technical training and/or experience in industrial/equipment maintenance
  • At least five (5+) years of maintenance experience required
  • Press repair and hydraulic troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Experience in the stamping press industry
  • Experience should include: troubleshooting, electronic testing, problem solving, production repairs, equipment maintenance and installation, pipefitting, welding, PLC’s, CNC benders, Laser equipment, automated welding equipment, fabrication and machine shop equipment use
  • High level of aptitude in a broad range of maintenance fields with a working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical and electronic systems
  • Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills
  • German Language skills would be a plus
  • Visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
