Qualifications

• Certification courses or apprenticeship in construction/maintenance trade(s) preferred.
• One (1) year building maintenance experience (required).
• Valid California Driver’s License (required).

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician assists the Environmental Services Supervisor in maintaining the facility's physical plant, equipment, and grounds.

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on buildings, equipment, grounds, and vehicles, including plumbing, masonry, carpentry, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
• Receive deliveries and distribute materials and supplies to appropriate departments.
• Complete miscellaneous sanitation duties such as sweeping sidewalks, cleaning garage areas, and emptying trash containers.
• Manually lift and move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Be available for on‑call emergency repair situations.
• Maintain various department logs in writing.

Division/Program Overview

Star View is a comprehensive mental health inpatient residential facility for adolescents, serving up to 60 patients statewide. It offers psychiatric health, community treatment, and a non‑public high school program with 24/7 locked facility services, multidisciplinary mental health care, therapeutic behavioral services, and intensive day treatment.
