Job summary

Augusta Technical College is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled work on campus facilities and grounds, including electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, coordinating with maintenance and custodial staff, keeping records, and responding to emergencies while upholding safety standards and quality workmanship across the campus.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED and one year of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance.
• Experience in electrical, carpentry, plumbing or building maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, or repair electrical systems and hardware.
• Install, maintain, repair, and renovate plumbing hardware.
• Assist with renovation projects as assigned.
• Assist with carpentry projects.
• Participate in the repair and maintenance of college equipment and vehicles.
• Participate in grounds maintenance activities, including landscaping, herbicides and pesticides, and maintaining parking lots.
• Use and maintain a variety of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain required records and logs.
• Maintain fire alarms, sprinkler, and security systems.
• Coordinate the work of maintenance and custodial staff as directed by the supervisor.
• Respond to emergency requests for repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Install, maintain, or repair electrical systems and associated hardware

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or equivalent *and* One (1) year of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance

A high school degree or GED *and* One (1) year of experience in a skilled trade (electrical, carpentry, plumbing) or building maintenance.
