The Fleet Technician III is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground level offices, office trailers, and modular buildings. This role requires a high degree of independent judgment and may involve specialization in a specific skilled trade. The Fleet Technician III must be capable of performing all duties of an Equipment Associate and Fleet Technician I & II.

What you'll do:

• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
• Possess proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or welding diagnostics and repairs.
• Perform repairs and installations such as floors, tiles, roofs, walls, framing, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, painting, filters/dampers, skin replacement, trim, equipment tagging, and decal application.
• Hook mobile offices to power sources.
• Check tire pressure and lugs.
• Complete assignments on time and within budget, documenting work as per procedures.
• Travel to customer sites to set up office trailers and assist drivers as needed.
• Supervise, train, and organize duties of other Equipment Associates and Fleet Technicians I & II as assigned.
• Perform equipment modifications according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop, yard, tools, and supplies following Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines.
• Inspect and process inbound and outbound equipment following Rental Flow procedures.
• Operate forklifts safely.
• Show and exhibit fleet to customers when required.
• Safely install and uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Trade skill training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid applicable state driver's license.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction and equipment maintenance.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong construction knowledge and leadership skills.
• Effective time management and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency with relevant information technology.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and warranty processes.
• Ability to record work details accurately and lift up to 45 pounds.
