Job summary

Sunstar Engineering Americas in Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, support equipment installation, and help integrate new machinery into the planned program.

The role requires experience with pumps, motors, bearings, drive systems, and safety protocols; must be able to lift heavy loads, work in manufacturing conditions, and be on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with at least 5 years of mechanical and electrical factory experience.
• Experience with pumps, motors, bearings, shafts, drive units, power transmission, forklifts; pneumatic experience is a plus.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a manufacturing environment with heat, dust, oil and dirt.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and prevent downtime across multiple locations.
• Support installation of new equipment and integrate into the maintenance program.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans with Process Engineering input.

The Maintenance Specialist performs mechanical & electrical engineering, process equipment control, and facility maintenance for multiple locations. Keeps existing equipment in top operation capability, repair and correct current problems with minimal plant downtime. This position will also help coordinate the installation of new equipment and incorporate it into planned maintenance program.

Essential Duties

• Support a comprehensive Maintenance department including but not limited to maintaining 5S system, cost reducing measures, and continuous improvements.
• Participate and assist in the development and successful implementation of a preventive maintenance plan including partnering with Process Engineering to write job instructions and procedures.
• Execute a preventative maintenance program.
• Support Process Engineering with production/processes performance issues
• Fix all breakdowns and malfunction of equipment.
• Obtain quotes and write purchase requisitions to obtain needed goods.
• Availability to being called after hours. Must be able provide assistance as needed when needed.
• Work with vendors to improve the current processes and production capabilities.
• Maintain and organize separate supply/storage location
• Support all new equipment using best practices provided by the supplier/manufacturer.
• This position is also required to perform other related duties as assigned by the department manager or president

Requirements

• Must have electrical installation and troubleshooting experience of industrial equipment.
• Possess a working knowledge of PLC's.
• Experience with Aerial lifts and working at heights and knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out programs.
• On Call capability, to fix equipment with possible notice of less than 2 hours.
• Must have a valid drivers license to operator company vehicles.
• Microsoft office experience is a plus.
• Must be able to stand for most of an 8 to 12 hour day as well as work in a manufacturing environment consisting of heat, dust, oil and dirt.
• Must be able to lift greater than 50 lbs.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Forklift experience is required.

Education & Experience Requirements

Must possess a high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years' experience within a mechanical and electrical factory

atmosphere. Have mechanical experience in working with

pumps, motors, bearings, shaft seals, drive units, power transmission systems and forklifts, as well as, pneumatic

experience with compressors, air dryers, airlines, gauges and automatic valves.
