Job summary

MAI Animal Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring optimal operation of equipment.

You will carry out scheduled tasks, reduce downtime, install and relocate equipment, and keep accurate forms and documentation. Must have practical experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar setting.

Job description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a diverse range of skilled tasks, including the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment, as well as conducting preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to the established schedule.
• Reduce downtime by conducting routine maintenance and training workers on the proper useof equipment.
• Maintain machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Replace defective parts and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
• Maintain equipment parts inventory, maintain supply levels, and complete all necessary forms and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Install new equipment and assist in relocating existing equipment as needed.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Perform general maintenance tasks for the building facilities.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by your manager.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced knowledge in using manual and power tools safely.
• Knowledge of GMP - ISO procedures and clean rooms is a plus.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, heating, and air conditioning, a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of prior experience in general maintenance or a combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with general maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or systems to remove and replace defective parts.
• Professional presentation and attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to conduct repetitive climbing (ladders, lifts, and scaffolding), stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching over head.
• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
