The Maintenance Technician performs skilled trades and custodialduties in the performance of repairs and maintenance of buildingsHousing & Residential Life facilities. Provide training andsupervision to temporary & student staff. Regularly inspectfacilities and promptly address repair and custodial issues.
Requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicableskilled trades program and no prior work experience, which may besubstituted by an equivalent combination of job relatedcertification, training, education, and/or experience.
Valid driver's license
3 years of experience in Housing Facilities Management.
Working knowledge of HVAC tools, equipment & materials used inmaintenance applicable to the job, especially HVAC. Workingknowledge of techniques, methods & practices of designatedtrades. Skill in use of tools & equipment. Ability to read,understand and interpret plans & specifications. Familiar withmost current HVAC practices. Ability to understand and carry outroutine oral and written instructions. Communicate effectively bothin writing and verbally. Work in an environment with students,faculty and administration while maintaining appropriate behavior.Employee will receive annual OSHA and Facilities Maintenancetraining. HR1.95, Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy requires pre-employmentdrug screen. HR1.90, Job Reference and Background Checks requires a good driving record and successful background check.
