Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle general repairs, hands-on maintenance, and safe operation of equipment inside our Distribution Center and around the property. You’ll perform carpentry, painting, electrical repairs, landscaping, and concrete work, while keeping accurate service records and prioritizing safety.

Flexible hours include weekends, with compensation ranging from $21.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with facility maintenance, carpentry, painting, electrical repairs.
• Ability to operate and knowledge of forklift or industrial equipment.
• Strong communication and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Flexible hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs inside the Distribution Center.
• Repair warehouse equipment and complete handyman tasks as needed.
• Landscape and property upkeep, lawn care and snow removal.
• Maintain accurate work records (Service Channel).
• Operate equipment safely and follow safety practices.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous facilities repair and maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate and knowledge of fork-lift or industrial equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience in facilities maintenance.
• Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
• Skilled in multi-tasking and managing competing priorities.
• Must be able to work flexible hours determined by needs of department including weekends.
• Ability to safely and effectively utilize general hand tools, saws , drills, etc.
• Use of a computer for email and to manage Service Channel work orders.

Physical Demands

• Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
