Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general repairs and maintenance inside the Distribution Center and around the property, addressing tasks such as carpentry, painting, electrical work, and equipment servicing.

You will also handle landscaping, record-keeping in Service Channel, and safe operation of tools and equipment, with flexible hours and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Proven facilities maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Ability to operate forklift or industrial equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good communication and ability to read/write instructions.

Job Title

Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general building repairs and maintenance, repairing warehouse equipment and completing handyman work as needed both inside the Distribution Center and around the property.

Responsibilities

• General building maintenance including carpentry, painting and electrical repairs.
• Landscaping including lawn care/snow removal around the building property.
• Concrete and floor repairs.
• Maintain accurate records (Service Channel) of all Maintenance tasks performed as instructed.
• Operating equipment in a safe manner.
• Operate in a safe manner for benefit of self and others and maintain a watchful eye for unsafe practices and situations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Starting pay at $21.00 - $26.00/hour (Based on experience)

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous facilities repair and maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate and knowledge of fork-lift or industrial equipment.

Physical Demands

Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance. Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center. Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations. Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions. Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90% Sitting: 5% Desk or phone work: 5%
