Job description

Maintenance Technician opportunity in Sidney, OH, for an experienced candidate with both electrical and mechanical industrial troubleshooting experience. Safely perform a wide range of duties relating to installation, troubleshooting, repair, unscheduled maintenance, and preventive maintenance of machining equipment with minimal supervision. Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and maintain facility-related systems and equipment. Conduct troubleshooting of complex equipment and systems. Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to the maintenance program and system design.

Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills Required
  • Should have a strong working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
  • Electrical/PLC background beneficial.
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting 480VAC 3phase power systems
  • Possesses the skills needed to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery.
  • Able to use critical thinking and problem-solving to identify solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Possesses basic understanding of variable frequency drives, motor starters, overloads, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other electrical circuits.
  • Able to work safely with hazardous chemicals and wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
  • Observe mechanical devices and equipment in operation and troubleshoot accordingly.
  • Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.
  • Repair broken or defective parts/equipment, which may include grinding and welding.
  • Tear down, clean, and rebuild equipment daily to ensure compliance with general safety requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Colleagues, Production Supervisors, and Plant Management, as needed.
  • Follow all applicable rules and procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Arc Flash, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and other related programs.
  • Actively participate on Safety Committee
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Teams to improve operations and safety.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience: 5+ years of experience in an industrial, electrical, or mechanical manufacturing environment.
