thyssenkrupp is seeking an industrial maintenance technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on machinery and perform timely repairs on equipment. You will establish preventive maintenance schedules, perform facility upkeep, and document inspections and repairs.

  • Mechanical and technical aptitude demonstrated.
  • 3–5 years in industrial maintenance environment.
  • HS Diploma or GED completed.
  • Formal technical degree/certificate required.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Independence with minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, climb, lift up to 40 lbs.
  • English reading/writing; basic math.
  • Basic computer data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems on machinery, performing timely repairs.
  • Establish and conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Perform facility/building maintenance and minor repairs; keep area clean and safe.
  • Dismantle and install equipment; supervise repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and repairs.
  • Coordinate and recommend on work-related contracts and services.
  • Supervise outside contractors for mechanical and electrical work.
  • Support Lean, safety, quality initiatives; comply with all requirements.
  • Work on warehouse floor around heavy machinery; wear PPE as required.

Job description

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs on all equipment.
  • Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on all machinery/equipment in the facility.
  • Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
  • Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services.
  • Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.
  • Complete all job duties in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) when required.
  • Assist in any duties to support the operations, as requested by supervisor or manager.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
  • 3-5 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Formal degree or certificate in a technical area or related field required
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Little or no supervisor assistance is required
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
  • Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry
  • Ability to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
  • Obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry picker

  • Ability to work (Monday - Friday 8 Hrs, from 10:00pm to 6:30am)

Hiring Range: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, plus a $0.75 per hour third-shift premium.
