Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in San Jose is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Tuesday through Saturday, 8am–5pm, with occasional Mondays. You will handle electrical, plumbing, and HVAC upkeep, assist with apartment turnovers, and maintain grounds to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Ideal candidates have at least six months in building maintenance, a high school diploma, strong customer service, and the ability to use MS Office.

Qualifications

• Prefer six months of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Experience handling upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters is beneficial.
• Must be able to interact effectively with staff, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Assist with apartment turnovers – painting, carpet cleaning, pressure washing.
• Maintain grounds including pool and spa if applicable.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

  Responsibilities

  Qualifications

  • Prefer six (6) months of experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters. Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
  • Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
