Job summary

Quality Packaging, Inc. in Saint Francis, WI (and Fond du Lac, WI) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep production lines and facility systems running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/pneumatic issues, and assisting with new equipment installations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in industrial maintenance, familiarity with PLCs, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing or packaging preferred).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on packaging and production equipment, conveyors, compressors, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
  • Work with PLCs, sensors, motors, and drives to diagnose and resolve control system problems.
  • Assist with new equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning projects.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during production shifts.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and update logs or CMMS systems.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying risks and participating in safety audits.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve machine performance and reliability.
  • Manage and organize spare parts inventory and maintenance tools.

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician and help power the production of high-quality packaging solutions that customers rely on every day.

What You’ll Do

As part of our maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that our production lines and facility operate safely and efficiently. Your day‑to‑day will include:

  • Performing preventive maintenance on packaging and production equipment, conveyors, compressors, and facility systems.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who’s dependable, curious, and enjoys solving technical challenges.

Required:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing or packaging preferred)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Preferred:
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems
  • Experience with automated packaging machinery (case erectors, fillers, labelers, shrink wrappers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and programming
  • Certifications such as OSHA, NCCER, or similar a plus
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing plant setting — exposure to machinery, noise, and variable temperatures
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed
