Job summary

Osborn in Richmond, IN is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and inspections on plant equipment and tooling. You will troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, dismantle and repair components, and work with operators to test equipment after repairs.

Candidate should be able to read mechanical drawings, perform basic machining, install piping, and weld when necessary.

Qualifications

• Read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings.
• Basic machining skills to make or repair parts.
• Ability to install and replace piping, tubing and conduit as needed.
• Basic welding and cutting torch abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment per instructions and schedule.
• Cleans and lubricates bearings, gears and other components on equipment and tooling.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to determine cause of breakdown and repair actions.
• Troubleshoots tooling to determine repair actions.
• Dismantles equipment and tooling and installs new or repaired components.
• Inspects and measures components to detect wear or misalignment.
• Works with operators to start and test equipment after repair.
• Reads drawings to troubleshoot equipment and tooling.
• Repairs and maintains facility structure; basic welding may be required.
• Operates manual lathe, mill, drill press and grinder to make or repair parts.
• Installs new piping, tubing and conduit; drops power and air to relocated equipment.
• Writes reports on equipment/tooling status and issues to supervisor.
• Cleans work area after completing tasks.

• Performs Preventive Maintenance on equipment as per instructions and schedule
• Cleans and lubricates bearings, gears and other components on equipment and tooling
• Must be able to troubleshoot equipment mechanical, pnuematic, hydraulic and electrical systems to determine cause of equipment breakdown and action required to repair the equipment
• Must be able to troubleshoot tooling in order to determine the action required to repair the tool.
• Must be able to dismantle equipment / tooling and install new or repaired components
• Inspect and measure components to detect wear, misalignment or other problems
• Work with equipment operators to start and test equipment / tooling following a repair
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings in order to troubleshoot equipment and tooling
• Repair and maintain physical structure of the facility
• Basic machining skills, setup and operate manual lathe, mill, drill press and grinder to make or repair parts
• Install new piping, tubing and conduit to replace damaged ones
• Drop electrical power and air to new or relocated equipment
• Paint equipment to prevent corrosion
• Reports on status and any unacceptable conditions of equipment / tooling to supervisor
• Have basic computer skills in order to look up information on equipment in order to assist with troubleshooting
• Cleans up work area when done working on equipment, tooling or facility
