Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a maintenance technician for 1st shift (6:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday–Friday) in Michigan. The role includes preventive and reactive maintenance across conveyors, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical and carpentry tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• A valid State Driver's License is required.
• Basic knowledge of power tools and hand tools.
• Recognize various hardware parts and repair methods.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work unsupervised.
• Customer service experience is desirable.
• 2–3 years of similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and reactive maintenance on conveyors, mechanical, plumbing, instrumentation, and related equipment.
• Maintains and repairs all equipment and facilities as needed.
• Responds to spills and emergencies and performs required tasks.
• Performs landscaping tasks such as hedge trimming and trash pickup.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks.

1st shift: 6am to 2:30pm - Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, instrumentation, and other equipment, systems or structures
• Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities
• Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary
• Knowledge of landscaping, cutting of hedges, trimming of bushes and picking up trash
• Basic knowledge of electrical
• Basic knowledge of plumbing
• Basic Carpentry skills
• Basic drywall repair and painting of walls

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific environments (if applicable), including work history if available.
• A valid State Driver's License is required.
• Basic knowledge of proper use of power tools, hand tools.
• Recognize various hardware parts and methods of repair for related tasks.
• Must possess organizational skills.
• Must be able to perform unsupervised.
