Job summary

ABM is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician in Sacramento to perform routine and preventive maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general facilities. A strong emphasis on safety and customer service ensures reliable operations of commercial facilities.

The role requires hands-on skills with tools and diagnostic equipment, plus the ability to respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergencies, while maintaining accurate records and compliance with OSHA

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience.
  • General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical issues.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
  • Repair doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, fixtures, and other building components.
  • Replace filters, belts, bulbs, and other consumable parts as needed.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations and service calls.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with building occupants, vendors, and management.

Job Description

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of commercial facilities. This role supports building operations by troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems while maintaining a high standard of customer service and safety.

Pay: $25.00 - $25.00/ hour.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
