The purpose of this recruitment is to fill Maintenance Technician vacancies across the divisions of Public Works. The eligibility list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in other divisions. This position may work up to 35 hours per week.
These are entry level positions requiring zero to six months work experience related to parks maintenance activities. On the job training is provided! If you want to enhance the lives of the Rancho Cucamonga community, are a team player, and enjoy working outdoors.
Performing repetitive functions including, but not limited to, weeding, landscape maintenance, janitorial duties, graffiti removal, and tree trimming. Additional duties may include painting, restoration, and minor plumbing. Expected to perform all related duties as required.
Ability to read, write, and apply common sense standards in carrying out oral and written instruction. Ability to perform manual labor under extreme weather conditions. Some maintenance experience preferred.
This is an entry-level position, training will be provided for necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of methods, common tools and equipment used in public works construction and maintenance work; basic safety precautions and procedures. Ability to perform skilled and unskilled maintenance work; operate and perform routine maintenance and servicing of a variety of power-driven equipment and power tools; understand and follow verbal and written instructions; work safely and efficiently with others; deal tactfully with the public.
If hired, candidate will be required to complete a verification form designated by Immigration and Naturalization Service to certify that they are eligible for employment in the United States of Americaandfurnish proof certifying legal authorization to work in the United States.
