This position has a strong electrical focus and supports production machinery, automated systems, and facility equipment.Your day-to-day will include:Troubleshooting and repairing three-phase 480V electrical systems, motors, controllers, and related componentsProgramming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLCs used in automated manufacturing processesDiagnosing and repairing VFDs and industrial production equipmentPerforming preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtimeMaintaining mixers, dispersion equipment, pumps, agitators, scales, and automated filling systemsCompleting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, pipe-fitting, and HVAC repairs within your training and authorizationReading electrical schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work ordersDocumenting repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment history, and parts usage in the CMMSCoordinating with Production and other departments regarding equipment repairs and return-to-service testingFollowing all required safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry, HMIS/GHS, PPE, and OSHA requirementsAssisting outside contractors and supporting other Tnemec facilities when neededWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking someone who is:Experienced in troubleshooting industrial electrical and automated equipmentKnowledgeable about PLCs, VFDs, industrial motors, and three-phase 480V systemsSafety-conscious and committed to following established proceduresAble to diagnose equipment problems using a systematic approachComfortable reading electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manualsOrganized and able to prioritize repairs based on production needsA strong communicator who can clearly explain equipment status and repair needsAble to work independently and collaborate with Production, Quality Control, contractors, and other departmentsQualificationsRequirements:High School Diploma or GEDOne to two years of industrial maintenance or electrical experienceExperience working with three-phase 480V electrical systems and PLCsExperience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, industrial motors, and automated manufacturing equipmentBasic computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain CMMS recordsAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 100 poundsAbility to stand or walk for extended periods and frequently bend, twist, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motionsAbility to work in temperatures up to 105°F during the summer monthsAbility to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when assignedWillingness to work assigned hours, overtime, and scheduled call-in support as requiredWillingness to travel to other Tnemec facilities or training locations when neededPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable PLC platformsExperience using a CMMS, such as iMaintExperience in a coatings, chemical, or other industrial manufacturing environmentOSHA 10- or 30-hour certificationFormal Lockout/Tagout trainingWhy Tnemec?At Tnemec, we don’t just make coatings—we build careers.
