Job summary

The Salvation Army Booth Manor in West Philadelphia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the PSSM department. The role involves cleaning, preventive maintenance, painting, and everyday upkeep of Booth Manor I and II, with travel to Ivy Residence 1–2 times weekly.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of building maintenance experience, and the ability to work independently in a changing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in multifamily maintenance and experience involving affordable housing, senior housing, or special needs housing.
• Must be able to keep information in a confidential and secure fashion.
• Must have High School Diploma or GED and at least two years building maintenance experience.
• Must be a self-starter who can work in an environment with multiple changing work priorities.
• Good verbal and writing communication skills.
• Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
• Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of all common areas, trash removal and property inspection.
• Complete work orders, painting, preventative maintenance and upkeep.
• Travel to Ivy Residence 1–2 times per week as needed.

The Salvation Army, Booth Manor is a 100 1-bedroom apartment complex facility that houses senior citizens 62 years and older. Booth Manor is located in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia. Booth Manor is a facility that is funded by the Department of housing and urban.

Description of Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and condition of Booth Manor I and II. This will include a daily routine cleaning schedule of all common areas, trash removal, inspection of units / property, complete work orders, painting, preventative maintenance and care and upkeep. This position will also require you to travel to Ivy Residence, our sister site, 1-2 times a week, or when necessary.
