Job summary

Manpower Engineering is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The role supports the operations team to keep equipment and facilities running smoothly, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across teams. Responsibilities include performing inspections, diagnosing issues, and adhering to LOTO procedures with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in maintenance or related fields (general maintenance, building maintenance, automotive, construction, plumbing, or electrical).
• Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, motors, and chain drives.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals to determine proper operation and order replacement parts.
• Ability to work with equipment OEMs directly for technical support when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensures machine operation and limits downtime by performing regular inspections and documenting potential issues.
• Diagnoses and repairs machine breakdowns in a timely and professional manner to meet production demands.
• Practices strict Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) safety procedures and utilizes appropriate PPE at all times.
• Accurately documents all work performed, including work orders, inspection logs, and parts requests, in accordance with company policy.
• Generates parts requests for emergency repairs and assists in maintaining necessary inventory levels.
• Performs general building and facilities repairs as necessary to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Collaborates on equipment modifications aimed at improving operational efficiency or minimizing recurring breakdowns.
• Works closely with and engages with the maintenance team to resolve complex issues.

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the operations team supporting the overall efficiency and functionality of the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Pennsauken, New Jersey

Pay Range: $20 - $28per hour BOE

Role & Responsibilities

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 1–2 years of experience. A combination of general maintenance, building maintenance, automotive, construction, plumbing, and electrical experience is acceptable. (Experience with a multimeter, and 480 voltage a plus.)
• Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, motors, and chain drives.
• Basic understanding of 120vAC and 24vDC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals to determine proper operation and order replacement parts.
• Ability to work with equipment OEMs directly for technical support when necessary.
• Proficiency in general computer functions for data entry and communication.
• Ability to recognize hazards and various sources of energy (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic). (We touched on having a good mechanical aptitude, and having the electrical would be a big bonus.)
• Ability to work safely and follow specific maintenance instructions.
• Completion of a Technical School program or relevant vocational training is highly preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy equipment, and work in a manufacturing environment.
