The Town of Queen Creek, AZ is hiring two Parks Maintenance Technician positions in the Parks and Recreation department. This mid-level role performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance of parks, athletic fields, irrigation, playgrounds, and other outdoor amenities.
Work is outdoors with hands-on maintenance, repairs, and equipment operation. Locations include Downtown and Family Frontier Park with early shifts; recruitment closes Aug 30, 2026.
The Town is excited to announcetwo (2) new opportunities for experienced technical and maintenance professionals to join our Grounds team in our Parks and Recreation department. The expected hiring rate for this position is $23.31 per hour.
The Parks Maintenance Technician performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance of the Town’s parks, landscaped areas, athletic fields, irrigation systems, playgrounds, and other outdoor amenities. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in parks and grounds maintenance, landscaping, irrigation repair, turf and plant care, athletic field maintenance, weed control and herbicide application, or operation of landscape maintenance equipment. Work is primarily performed outdoors and includes hands‑on maintenance, repairs, equipment operation, and responding to park and landscape maintenance needs.

Schedule: Friday-Tuesday | 5/8 shift | Weekday 5 a.m.- 1 p.m.; Weekend: 4:30 am- 12:30pm
Schedule: Monday - Friday| 5/8 shift | Weekday: 5:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Positions assigned to this class are responsible for performing semi-skilled parks and grounds preventative maintenance, repair or general maintenance activities.
This is an intermediate level parks and grounds maintenance classification in the maintenance and operations job family. Incumbent(s) demonstrate working knowledge of routine work applications and troubleshooting/diagnosis, working independently and referring more complex issues to superiors. Assignments require learned skills and a good technical understanding of the basics.

High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
