Job summary

IFF, a global leader in taste, scent and nutrition, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support mechanical, electrical, civil and other trades at our site in Oregon. You will assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of plant and office equipment, and help prepare machinery for production runs.

This hands-on role requires being on site for assigned shifts, on-call readiness, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and coordinate with vendors and production staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical, mechanical repair, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Be at job site for assigned shift.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs on plant utilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Assist production until daily schedule is complete.
• Work as a team with operators.
• Contact vendors for price, availability and parts.
• Install new equipment.
• Answer questions regarding operation of systems.
• Assist with machinery setup for scheduled production runs.
• Make necessary corrections and running adjustments.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Diagnose sources of failure or downtime and correct them.
• Maintain facilities and infrastructure including chillers, boilers, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Summary Assist maintenance personnel covering mechanical, electrical, civil, and other trades. Assemble and transport materials handling equipment. Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical plant and office equipment and appliances. Carry out site preparations and assist in activities such as drain cleaning, concrete laying, partitioning, and shuttering erection. May be assigned to a specific trade area and carry out some of the more routine aspects of that trade activity, e.g., routine lubrication of production equipment and pulling of electrical wiring. May use a variety of simple trade tools such as pipe benders, spanners, and glass cutters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• A. Ability to be at the physical location of the job at the designated shift assigned.
• B. Ability to be in On-Call Status and/or work 6-7 day work week based on maintenance and production needs.
• C. Perform scheduled and emergency repairs on plant utilities and equipment.
• D. Troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• E. Assist production until daily schedule is complete.
• F. Work as a team with operators.
• G. Contact vendors on price, availability and purchase of parts and supplies.
• H. Install new equipment.
• I. Answer questions regarding operation of systems and equipment.

• Q. Must successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications.
