Job Title

Maintenance Technician

Job Description Summary

Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties and facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.
  2. Clean, lubricate, and service a variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
  3. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  4. Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and perform painting on walls, piping, floors, and equipment.
  5. Evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and identify savings opportunities.
  6. Use and care for tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
  7. Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.
  8. Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety and maintenance issues.
  9. Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarm systems and fire pumps.
  10. Perform carpentry and snow removal as needed.
  11. Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety practices.
  12. Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems.
  13. Complete all required safety training and adhere to uniform dress code.

Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment. Physical demands include communication, operating machinery, moving around the workplace, and occasional stationary positions.
