Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, a faith-based, premier nonprofit organization providing senior living and services in Michigan, has a great opportunity to join our team as the Full Time Maintenance Technician at Lynn Street Manor, Onaway, Michigan.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine necessity of repairs or maintenance.
  • Inspect, operate, test, maintain and repair mechanical devices, machinery, equipment and tools.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Install, assemble, repair and maintain electrical and gas appliances, equipment, systems, fixtures, lights, electronic components, plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Paint or repair surfaces, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
  • Provide landscaping (trimming, cutting, weeding, and planting) and snow removal (plowing, shoveling, and salting) to ensure appearance and safety for employees, residents and visitors.
  • Fabricate, install, repair, maintain and replace structural items such as counters, cabinets, partitions, floor and ceiling tile, gutters, roofs, etc.
  • Prepare assigned areas for various activities and events by clearing and/or rearranging furniture, setting up equipment, removing trash, etc.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and identifying hazards.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies following safety procedures.
  • Input work requests and detailed information in electronic system.
  • Install equipment to improve the energy or operational efficiency of buildings.
  • Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities to stay informed on current information and skill development.
  • Follow established policies and procedures including Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, safety policies and procedures, and Federal, state and local regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Experience: One to two years related experience in maintenance. Ability to operate a computer and maintenance software.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required. Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC a plus.
  • Other Requirements: On-call for maintenance emergencies required.
