Job summary

Vermeer Corporation in Florida is seeking an on-site maintenance technician who will support preventive maintenance and repair across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience in equipment maintenance at Vermeer or equivalent.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication with team and vendors.
  • Basic Microsoft Office competence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and record scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment like hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
  • Create a positive experience when working with mentors, peers, internal customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Accurately use the Thrive maintenance data system for records and diagnostics.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical equipment across systems; follow safety protocols and LO/TO if needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues on equipment.

Work Shift 1 - First Shift

Job Summary: Are you the type of technically minded person who takes pride in hands‑on problem solving and restoring equipment to working order? In this role, you will support the repair and maintenance needs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical systems supporting production. We’re looking for a collaborative team member who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to support the success of the production team.

What You’ll Do
  1. Perform and accurately record scheduled preventative maintenance procedures on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
  2. Create a positive customer experience when working with mentors/mentees, peers, internal customers and external suppliers and vendors.
  3. Accurately utilize the maintenance data system Thrive.
  4. Perform maintenance functions of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical equipment on a variety of equipment across multiple maintenance systems and serve as a subject matter expert within one to two specific systems, while adhering to safety protocols as an Authorized Lockout/Tagout Team Member and, when applicable, as an Electrically Qualified Team Member.
  5. Troubleshoot electrical issues on equipment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Two years’ experience in equipment maintenance at Vermeer; or associate’s degree in basic trades and one year of similar equipment maintenance experience elsewhere; or equivalent combination of education/experience required; or three years’ experience in similar equipment maintenance elsewhere.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools, volt meters, read blueprints and electrical schematics, write intra‑departmental communication, and apply concepts of basic math.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving techniques.
  • Effective communication with mentors/mentees, peers, internal customers and external suppliers and vendors.
  • Perform basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Successful operation of Thrive, LO/TO authorization, and Electrically Qualified team member certification.
