Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician 1 position will be responsible for basic repairs, troubleshooting, performing preventive/predictive and emergency maintenance on all equipment as assigned.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Basic troubleshooting, modification, and repair of production machinery and equipment.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair as required.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering with process or equipment improvements.
• Communicate effectively with Tool and Die, Engineering, Supervisors, and outside vendors regarding projects and repair problems.
• Fabricate, weld, or machine parts as required (preferred).
• Install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of production and building equipment.
• Perform basic work on interior and exterior building/facilities equipment such as air compressors, HVAC units, lighting/fans, and facilities restrooms.
• Move and install large machinery.
• Understand engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance work orders, or manufacturers manuals.
• Use basic hand and power tools, machine tools, and precision measuring equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
• 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Troubleshooting skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Fork truck operator experience (preferred).
• Heavy lifting within regulations.
• Ability to work overtime regularly and with minimal notice.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
