Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician 1 position will be responsible for basic repairs, troubleshooting, performing preventive/predictive and emergency maintenance on all equipment as assigned.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Basic troubleshooting, modification, and repair of production machinery and equipment.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair as required.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering with process or equipment improvements.
- Communicate effectively with Tool and Die, Engineering, Supervisors, and outside vendors regarding projects and repair problems.
- Fabricate, weld, or machine parts as required (preferred).
- Install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of production and building equipment.
- Perform basic work on interior and exterior building/facilities equipment such as air compressors, HVAC units, lighting/fans, and facilities restrooms.
- Move and install large machinery.
- Understand engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance work orders, or manufacturers manuals.
- Use basic hand and power tools, machine tools, and precision measuring equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
- 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Troubleshooting skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Fork truck operator experience (preferred).
- Heavy lifting within regulations.
- Ability to work overtime regularly and with minimal notice.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
