Job summary

Wellen Park Golf Club in North Port, FL is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support daily operations of our facilities and equipment. The role requires HVAC, plumbing, electrical expertise, and a proactive approach to safety and service.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, preventive care, troubleshooting, and responding to requests to minimize downtime. On-call availability and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Experience in facility maintenance or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other facility systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Maintain appearance and functionality of common areas, landscaping, walkways, and recreational facilities.
  • Assist in setting up, taking down, and storing equipment for events and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies; maintain maintenance records.
  • Manage inventory of tools and supplies; reorder within budget and coordinate with the facility team.

Compensation: $21.00 hourly

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to support the daily operations of our facilities and equipment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to service, and a commitment to safety, functionality, and overall community excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance:
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other facility components.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and operations.
  • Facility Upkeep:
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of all common areas, including landscaping, walkways, and recreational facilities.
  • Assist in setting up, taking down, and storing equipment for events and activities as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; ensure availability of necessary materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Order and replenish supplies as needed, keeping within budgetary constraints.
  • Work closely with the facility team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to be on-call for emergencies and respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and crouching, for extended periods.
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Work Schedule:
    • Full-time position with regular working hours and weekend work; may require on-call availability for emergencies.
