Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in New York seeks a Maintenance Technician to safely install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a range of equipment across facilities. The role requires hands-on skills in carpentry, electrical, HVAC and janitorial equipment, with a Monday–Friday schedule and hourly compensation of $34.87.

The ideal candidate will perform preventive maintenance, document logs, operate hand and power tools, use lifts and ladders, and follow Lock Out/Tag Out safety procedures while

Qualifications

• Six months minimum experience in a company environment or equivalent training in basic trades.
• High school diploma or GED required; safety training completed.
• Forklift and pallet jack certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and other systems.
• Operate hand and power tools; use scissor lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Maintain maintenance logs and schedules; follow safety procedures.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment in one or more fields (carpentry, paint, electrical, janitorial equipment, HVAC, vehicle/golf cart etc.).

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Self-Starter with Leadership and problem-solving skills
• Perform routine and predictive maintenance
• Perform general cleaning and maintains clean work area
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, electrical & mechanical issues and then repair
• Strong customer service skills
• Comfortable communicating complex issues with superior, co-workers and customers in a professional manner
• Proven ability to work safely in industrial environments
• Familiar with and utilize proper Lock Out/ Tag Out safety procedures
• Perform preventative equipment maintenance and repairs on all floor equipment, scrubbers, chariot vacuums, extractors, etc.
• Respond positively to requests in a timely manner
• Ability to use hand and power tools, use of scissor lifts, ladders and scaffolding. Soldering and welding a plus
• Maintain maintenance logs and schedules

Education and/ or Experience: Six months minimum experience in a company environment or equivalent experience and or training such as basic plumbing, painting, HVAC or construction. Two years Electrical Experience minimum. High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred. Must complete all safety, environmental and task training and or certifications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A valid driver’s license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements Forklift and electric pallet jack certification may be required.
