Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing in New Berlin, WI seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician to keep plant machinery in good working order with limited supervision and guidance. You will troubleshoot and solve issues across manufacturing machines, including CNC equipment and robotics.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, dismantling machines, replacing parts, performing PM, and training less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Able to work with limited supervision
• Good communication with coworkers and supervisors
• Preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Experience with CNC grinding or machining equipment or HVAC is a plus but not required
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+

Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle and replace parts, reassemble and adjust for efficient operation
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics
• Occasionally manufacture replacement parts
• Clean filters and perform PM on coolant systems and mist collection components
• Change or add oils and lubricants to production equipment
• Keep tools and maintenance area clean and organized
• Provide training to less experienced maintenance staff if needed

Sumitomo is looking for a full time Maintenance Technician to join our team! Wage range is based on experience!

Brief Description

With limited supervision and technical guidance, keep plant machinery and mechanicals in good working order. Troubleshoot and problem-solve various manufacturing machines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics
• May occasionally make replacement parts
• Clean filters and general PM on coolant systems and mist collection components
• Changing or adding oils and lubricants to production equipment
• General cleaning and organization of tools and maintenance area
• May need to provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff

What skills and experience are needed

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors

Work Environment

Well-lit and clean machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
