Job summary

Green Bay Packaging in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for safely maintaining and repairing plant machinery, sprinkler systems, and other equipment. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while keeping the plant clean, organized, and in compliance with safety policies.

You will read blueprints and diagrams, install and align machinery, troubleshoot power transmission, pneumatic and hydraulic systems,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AC/DC wiring methods.
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives and motors.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R, Beckhoff).
• Experience with touchscreens.
• Understanding of mechanical systems (bearings, alignment, chains, belts).
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Skills in design and fabrication.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining machinery and general plant maintenance; diagnose and repair equipment.
• Occasional weekend and night duty based on project needs or emergencies.
• Work safely and follow policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work requirements.
• Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.
• Maintain working knowledge of tools, appliances and devices.

Position Overview

The Maintenance technician is responsible for safely maintaining and repairing equipment, sprinkler systems, and other facility components. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in maintenance, cleaning up spills, and keeping shop organized. A self-motivated attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician

• Maintaining machinery. General maintenance throughout the plant, diagnosis and repair all equipment.
• There may be occasional weekend and night duty, based on project need or emergency.
• Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work requirements.
• Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
