Job summary

Vibra Hospital of southeastern Massachusetts in New Bedford, MA, seeks a Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will maintain the facility and equipment to high safety standards, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with repairs in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in building or mechanical fields; electrician or HVAC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year of experience in building or mechanical field is required.
• Maintenance knowledge including electrical, HVAC, and safety standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility and equipment safely and efficiently per Federal, State, and Local standards and Vibra Healthcare policies.
• Assist with general repairs as needed and perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow safety practices; may have security duties.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team!

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining the facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines and regulations, and established policies and procedures. Assists with general repairs as needed. Performs preventive maintenance according to prescribed schedule. Maintains a safe environment and follows safety policies and procedures for equipment. Adheres to and follows established procedures and safety practices to avoid injuries. This position may also be assigned security responsibilities.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Minimum one (1) year of experience working in building or mechanical field required.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Electrician and/or other maintenance certification preferred. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems preferred.


• Ability to project a professional image.


• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.


• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.


• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.


• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
