Job summary

PROJECTXYZ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production in a manufacturing setting, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on complex equipment and utilities. The ideal candidate will blend mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with strong problem-solving skills, while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical degrees preferred.
• 1-2 years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
• Good problem-solving, attention to detail and teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous production flow.
• Maintain operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, water, coolant systems, motors, conveyors, and production machines as per specifications.
• Maintain maintenance logs and records.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency callouts to minimize downtime.
• Support installation and set-up of new equipment with proper alignment and calibration.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance, including PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Read and follow drawings; document and communicate machine control modifications.

Description

PROJECTXYZ has a rare opening for a Maintenance Technician in our manufacturing area where we provide prototype molds and parts to major OEM companies using world-class equipment and leading-edge technologies through stereolithography, selective laser sintering, vacuum casting, and other specialized processes.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting production operations, conducting general and preventative maintenance; electrical and mechanical, as well as building and grounds maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a blend of mechanical, electrical, and digital proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous production flow
• Ensures operation of electrical and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on hydraulic, pneumatic, water, coolant systems, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Maintain maintenance logs and records
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency callouts to minimize production downtime
• Support installation and set-up of new equipment, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and functionality
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including proper use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Able to read and follow drawings and Document / communicate all machine control modifications to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose the root cause of the problem .

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical degrees in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields are preferred
• 1-2 years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and maintenance manuals
• Understanding and ability to communicate technical and mechanical information
• Good problem-solving, attention to detail and teamwork skills
• Excellent Communication skills, both Verbal and Written

Physical Factors

• Employees are regularly required to safely and efficiently perform tasks in a fast-paced working environment under minimal supervision.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, robots and conveyors.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Push/pull up to 300 lbs. with or without assistance
