Job summary

Veolia North America, following the acquisition of Clean Earth, is seeking a general maintenance technician to support facility upkeep. The role covers plumbing, electrical, welding and carpentry tasks to maintain buildings and equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with repairs, liaise with vendors, and help purchase supplies. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of maintenance experience, with flexibility for occasional weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, welding and electrical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals; flexible hours including occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks for the upkeep of the buildings and the grounds.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all machinery.
  • Perform oil changes and fluid level checks on forklifts and machinery.
  • Use carpentry, plumbing and electrical for minor repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and pristine work area at all times.
  • Serve as liaison with vendors for facility repairs.
  • Purchase equipment/supplies for facility related repairs.

This position is a general maintenance position for upkeep of the facility, including plumbing, electrical, welding and carpentry tasks.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks for the upkeep of the buildings and the grounds
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all machinery
  • Perform oil changes and fluid level checks on all forklifts and machinery
  • Use carpentry, plumbing and electrical for minor repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance of pumps and motors
  • Perform basic welding tasks, ie. mig and stick welding
  • Maintain a clean and pristine work area at all times
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
  • Serve as liaison with vendors for facility repairs
  • Purchase equipment/supplies for facility related repairs
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Two or more years of maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge in maintenance, specifically in carpentry, plumbing, welding and electrical skills
  • General knowledge of working with smalls pumps and motors
  • Ability to read and understand manuals to assist in repairs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekend hours
