Job summary

6AM City, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Minnesota manufacturing facility by maintaining production equipment and building systems for safe, reliable operations.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems, read blueprints, and collaborate with production to minimize downtime, with opportunities for overtime and growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years in manufacturing/industrial maintenance.
  • Proficient with power and hand tools.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems; assemble/disassemble components.
  • Preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role supports a manufacturing facility by maintaining production equipment and building systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems, while also handling general facility repair and remodel tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems, including mechanical components and related controls.
  • Troubleshoot and service electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance on rooftop units (RTUs), pumps, and related systems.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks on facility equipment and building systems.
  • Carry out general remodel and reconstruction work such as repairing doors, painting walls, and performing light plumbing tasks.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and address them before they lead to failures.
  • Use power and hand tools safely and effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment and components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and schematics to support troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Work with various pumps, including diaphragm, centrifugal, and displacement types, to ensure proper operation and performance.
  • Support automation systems by working with photo eyes, proximity switches, and limit switches as needed.
  • Assist with electrical work involving 24V to 480V three-phase power, electric motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) under appropriate safety practices.
  • Document and track maintenance tasks, completed work, and progress in maintenance logs or systems.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance and minimize disruption to operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency using power and hand tools for mechanical and facility maintenance tasks.
  • Hands‑on experience with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems, including assembling and disassembling components.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and building systems.
  • Experience working with pneumatics, including cylinders, valves, and solenoids.
  • Experience working with hydraulics, including cylinders, valves, and solenoids.
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including use of multimeters and working with 24V to 480V three‑phase power, electric motors, and VFDs.
  • Familiarity with automation system components such as photo eyes, proximity switches, and limit switches.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics.
  • Mechanical skills including motor alignment, bearing replacement, and general mechanical assembly and repair.
  • Experience with plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred experience with equipment such as drop packers, top sealers, palletizers, case erectors, and blow molding machines.
  • Experience working with various pumps, including diaphragm, centrifugal, and displacement types.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments with production equipment and machinery.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks and prioritize work based on production needs.
  • Attention to detail in documenting maintenance activities and following established procedures.
