Job Description

TheMaintenance Technicianis responsible for the maintenance duties involving interior/exterior carpentry, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs and minor roofing repairs in addition to other exterior responsibilities to guarantee that the communities we manage are properly and safely maintained.

Details: Full-time, on-call nights and weekends

Wage: $22-27/hr

Location: Centre Village Condos in Downtown Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained.
  • Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters and drains.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems & equipment as needed.

Experience

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and clients
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements, (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures and forms.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
  • May be required to provide own basic tools (power drill, power saw, screwdrivers, level, hammer, etc.)

CPO License

Physical Demands
➢ Ability to safely operate, climb and perform work on ladders (1-2 stories) – 24-28ft.
➢ Ability to operate smartphone & email (day-to-day operations, basic communication/monthlyexpense reports)
➢ Must be able to operate a vehicle from one location to another
➢ Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
➢ Must be able to sit, stand, bend, pull/push, grasp, twist, reach above shoulder, walk, stoop,kneel and climb.
➢ Must be able to use hands and fingers to input data to information system; and talk or hear inorder to gather and provide information on departmental processes.

Education and Experience
➢ High School Diploma or GED Required
➢ 3 -- 5 years of directly related or closely related experience


Travel Requirements
➢ Travel may be required (no overnights)


Working Conditions:
➢ Typical inside/outside work environment year-round (frequent standing, walking, lifting and/oroperating powered equipment using proper safety techniques or tools), exposure to elements likerain, heat or cold.
➢ Overtime may-be required (on-call)
