Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble a limited range of production CNC, or manual machinery as required.
  • Maintain and update repair maintenance program documentation including type of repair and what was serviced, cost of machine replacement parts, machine down time including time spent waiting for part(s) to arrive, time necessary for repair, date machine went down, and date when machine went back online.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment. Assist with the location determination, electrical requirements, and all other installation needs. Perform preventive maintenance duties as scheduled and maintain proper documentation reporting for the shop manager. Coordinate preventive maintenance scheduling of each machine with Machine Shop Supervisor. Post the monthly preventive maintenance schedule for each cell and, upon completion, have it signed off by Cell Leader
  • Assist with proper storage, usage, disposal of hazardous materials, ensure it is in compliance with state and federal regulations. Possess First Responder training for hazard waste spills in the shop.
  • Monitor and schedule metal waste and chips pickup when necessary.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of cutting solvents, and welding gasses. Maintain a current file of vendors for appropriate products. Monitor parts degreasing system and perform daily preventive maintenance.
  • Post weekly operator preventive maintenance assignments form for each machine. At the end of the week, collect and review weekly postings with Machine Shop Supervisors.

  • Proficient in shop mathematics including geometry, trigonometry, and tolerance calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands
  • Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Standing or Sitting for Extended Periods
  • The job might involve lifting and carrying heavy objects or materials, which could require physical strength and proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
